The Super Bowl Champ came from the NFC East this past season with the Philadelphia Eagles taking down a dynasty and lifting their second Lombardi Trophy. The Washington Commanders ended up being the best surprise of the regular season and it’s evident that something special is brewing in D.C. The Dallas Cowboys took one step back in the regular season and then five more back immediately following the season by promoting a head coach that left everyone scratching their heads. As for the Giants, it will be hard to embarrass themselves more than they already did last season with their HBO blunders. Maybe this offseason will be better. Here’s our 2025 NFC East team needs analysis.
New York Giants
Needs: QB, OT, OG, CB
Remember when the Giants opted to keep Daniel Jones on a huge contract and not pay Saquon Barkley? That really backfired this past season as Barkley went on to lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl and the Giants dumped Jones midway through the year in a very unprofessional manner. The Giants must figure out their plan at QB. Do they trade for a guy? Do they sign Kirk Cousins? Do they pray that they can land Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders with the third overall pick? This is the top priority entering this offseason. Maybe they spot a weak QB class and opt to tank and start over entirely in ‘26, a decision that would come from owner John Mara.
Dallas Cowboys
Needs: RB, OG, DT, CB
Dallas is in a really bad spot, in my opinion. They signed Dak Prescott to a massive extension last offseason. When he was on the field, the team was terrible. He gets hurt and the team starts winning with Cooper Rush. It’s an apparent overpay and one that now becomes extremely difficult to manage. Let’s assume they are rolling it back with Dak. Their running game was atrocious last season and Ashton Jeanty at #12 should be their top choice in the draft. Building back their defensive and offensive trenches will follow that.
Washington Commanders
Needs: Edge, OT, WR, LB
The Commanders were so impressive in 2024, and they are only going to get better with a guy like Adam Peters running their front office. After hitting a home run with the Jayden Daniels pick, there appears to be no limit for what the Commanders can accomplish. First thing though, they have to solidify their defense, and Dan Quinn will certainly make that his priority as a defensive minded coach. The run defense was incredibly bad. Finding some players up front and a linebacker that can play the whole field will be their top priorities.
Philadelphia Eagles
Needs: Edge, WR, LB, OG
It seems like the Eagles have no real needs considering Howie Roseman can flip an entirely new roster from Super Bowl win to Super Bowl win. We know this, the Eagles are flush with talent, but they will lose star players in free agency this offseason, including on the defensive side of the ball. Getting EDGE rushers and a linebacker will be important. Something else to keep an eye on…receiver A.J. Brown. There was a lot of turmoil this season with him. Moving on from him could open some salary cap space.
