Texas Pete Wings

"A tailgate party just isn't complete without the hot wings!"

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutes Serves: 6-8

 

2 1/2 pounds (12 to 15) whole chicken wings or (24 to 30) split wing pieces

2 tablespoons Texas Pete* Hot Sauce, or more to taste

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Cut whole wings at joints. Discard wing tips. Place 24 to 30 pieces on absorbent paper to dry. To cook, choose one of the following methods.

  1.  Deep Fat Fry: Heat oil to 375°F, and fry wings for 10 to 12 minutes or until crispy.
  2. Oven Bake: Preheat oven to 450°F. Spread wings in single layer on sheet pan. Bake for 35 minutes or until done.

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter/margarine in a saucepan, add 3 tablespoons Texas Pete® Hot Sauce, or more to taste, and stir well. Place cooked wings and blended sauce in a large, covered bowl. Shake gently.

To serve, use tongs or a slotted spoon to place wings on plate. Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.
