"A tailgate party just isn't complete without the hot wings!"
2 1/2 pounds (12 to 15) whole chicken wings or (24 to 30) split wing pieces
2 tablespoons Texas Pete* Hot Sauce, or more to taste
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
Cut whole wings at joints. Discard wing tips. Place 24 to 30 pieces on absorbent paper to dry. To cook, choose one of the following methods.
- Deep Fat Fry: Heat oil to 375°F, and fry wings for 10 to 12 minutes or until crispy.
- Oven Bake: Preheat oven to 450°F. Spread wings in single layer on sheet pan. Bake for 35 minutes or until done.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter/margarine in a saucepan, add 3 tablespoons Texas Pete® Hot Sauce, or more to taste, and stir well. Place cooked wings and blended sauce in a large, covered bowl. Shake gently.
To serve, use tongs or a slotted spoon to place wings on plate. Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.
