NFL Saturday Wild Card Playoff Games

3 Exciting Matchups Slated

After 17 long weeks, and a lot of coronavirus-related uncertainty, we have finally reached the NFL postseason. The final week of the regular season was one of the most fun and interesting in recent memory as multiple playoff positions were up for grabs. The season started with 32 teams and now we are down to just 14.  Twelve of them are in action this weekend while the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs enjoy bye-weeks. There will be six games this weekend with three on Saturday and three on Sunday. All of them should be fun to watch.

Let’s check out the Saturday Wild Card Round Games.

Indianapolis Colts vs Buffalo Bills – 1:05 pm E.T. – CBS

The Colts were able to inch out the Dolphins for a playoff berth with their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17, but in their first round of the playoffs they will have an incredibly tough foe in the Buffalo Bills. Other than the Chiefs, the Bills are the hottest team in the NFL and have won six straight games, including a 56-26 win over Miami last week. Josh Allen has put up MVP-type numbers this season and would like to make up for last year’s Wild Card blunder that ended with him fumbling away the Bills chances. The Colts are a tough opponent after finishing 11-5 and boasting one of the best turnover defenses in the league. This could be the last game of Philip Rivers’ career and he will be leaving it all on the field.

Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks  – 4:40 pm E.T. – FOX

It’s always fun when division rivals go head-to-head in the playoffs and this should be a great matchup. The Rams and Seahawks split the season series, but it was Seattle who won the division and clinched home-field advantage for this game. Seattle is 7-1 when playing on their own turf and their win against LA came in Seattle just two weeks ago. The Rams could be without Jared Goff for a second straight week after he underwent thumb surgery which means John Wolford could make his second career start in the most important game of the year for Los Angeles. The Rams have sacked Russell Wilson 11 times this year and this should shake out to be a very physical contest.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Washington Football Team – 8:15 pm E.T. – NBC

The Washington Football Team became only the third team in NFL history to win their division with a losing record. They join the 2010 Seattle Seahawks and 2014 Carolina Panthers with that ignominious honor. As a result, they get to host this Wild Card Round game. The Buccaneers arguably received the easiest playoff matchup in the NFC by squaring off with Washington.  The Bucs are bringing an offense to town that has scored more than 40 points in its last two games. Washington has struggled offensively this year, but they bring a strong defense to the game and rookie phenom Chase Young is excited to get after Tom Brady in his first ever playoff game. While Brady and the Bucs are more equipped, the Football Team seems hungry for an upset.
