Top 3 2026 College Football Games Week 6

There seems to be something new that happens each week in college football. So, what happened last week? Well, how about a head coach parting ways with his defensive coordinator during the course of the game. You read that correctly. Colorado State’s head coach Jim Mora got into it with his defensive coordinator Tyson Summers in the middle of the game. After a screaming match, Summers was gone. He left the field and in fact, left the program. Mora said that Summers was no longer the DC following the game. It’s not often you catch that all on camera, but thank goodness for college football, the best reality TV show that there is. With that in mind, here are our Top 3 2026 College Football Games Week 6.

No. 7 Indiana vs Nebraska

This is a sneaky fun matchup to watch. I think when Matt Rhule was hired at Nebraska, the Cornhuskers imagined that they’d have the kind of evolution that Indiana experienced. The Hoosiers had immediate success, the perfect season, and the National Championship. Now, both teams are off to a 5-0 start. Granted, the challenges that have stood in their way haven’t been massive. Neither team has played a ranked team up to this point. Three of Indiana’s opponents weren’t Power 4. The same can be said for Nebraska. Clearly, the talent favors the Hoosiers and so does the coaching. This is a contest that Cornhuskers fans will hope can become a legit rivalry, but for that to happen, you have to win one first. This could be the start of something new, but maybe not a rivalry quite yet. Prediction: Indiana 34 Nebraska 28

No. 2 Georgia vs No. 6 Alabama

This is always one of the best matchups to circle each season. Who doesn’t love the biggest two powerhouses in the SEC swinging at each other before their inevitable date in the SEC Championship. Both teams are off to a perfect start. Alabama put the conference on notice a week ago. They faced off against No. 16 Mississippi State, and they absolutely crushed their spirit. Personally, I was a bit surprised to see The Bulldogs ranked in the first place and then Alabama showed them what it’s like to be in the Top 25, winning 56-23. It’s their second game in their last three scoring 50 or more and they’ve not scored less than 45 this season. Georgia was tested with Vanderbilt and Oklahoma in back-to-back weeks, but it wasn’t much of a challenge, winning both games by big double digits and flexing their patented strong defense. Gunnar Stockton vs Keelon Russell should be the best QB battle in the country this weekend. This will be a massive game for SEC title implications. Playing in Tuscaloosa, you can give me the Tide. Prediction: Georgia 21 Alabama 25

No. 19 USC vs Penn State

Lincoln Riley’s seat is warming up rapidly. It could be on fire if the Trojans fall to Penn State this weekend. Matt Campbell is looking for his first signature win with the Nittany Lions. Penn State has dropped back-to-back games to Wisconsin and Northwestern. USC had a big win over Washington where they held strong at the end, but I haven’t seen enough good play from them to warrant being the 19th team in the country. This is the White Out game. It’s going to be a brutal atmosphere. I see this being the start of the Campbell era and a massive win for Penn State. Prediction: USC 28 Penn State 31
