Week 16 felt like we had three of the wackiest games of the season. From the crazy comeback and finish on Thursday Night to the boldness of the Bears on Saturday night and one of the weirdest endings you’ll ever see in the Lions and Steelers game. It was a slate to remember as all those games were extremely important to playoff implications. Nothing changes this week with the season nearing a close. Here are our Top 3 2025 NFL Games Week 17.
Houston Texans vs Los Angeles Chargers
Both teams are fighting for their divisions. They each need to win and get a little bit of help from the teams in front of them for that to be made possible. The Texans struggled for most of last week’s game but still came away with a win against the Raiders which was expected. The Chargers handled the Cowboys rather easily and look like one of the stronger teams as the season nears an end. This will be a battle of two great defenses and who can make more stops. While the Texans are better on paper, it feels like the Chargers are hitting a stride offensively that we’ve expected all season long. LA can still win its division with the Broncos sitting as their opponent in Week 18. The 1-seed is still in play as well. I am expecting a Harbaugh masterclass. Prediction: Texans 20 Chargers 25
Buffalo Bills vs Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have won the NFC East and while the 1-seed is still in play, they need considerable help from around the rest of the conference to pull it off. The Bills still have a shot at a division title, but it requires winning out their final two games and hoping that the Pats lose one of their final two against the Jets and Dolphins, something that seems far less likely. The Bills struggled last week against the Browns and Josh Allen had one of his worst games of the season, putting up just 130 passing yards and didn’t throw for a score. This Eagles defense took care of the Commanders with ease while the offense continued to find a rhythm. While the 1-seed might be out of reach, getting that second or third seed is still of the utmost importance for the Eagles and there will be plenty of desire to bring their best effort. Chicago Bears vs San Francisco 49ers
Both teams are in contention for the 1-seed in the NFC but the 49ers are in control of their own destiny, needing just two wins over the next two weeks to clinch. They dominated the Colts offensively on Monday Night Football, scoring a season high 48 points in that game and Brock Purdy played the best game of his career. But seasons have ebbs and flows and while the 49ers are at the top right now with a 5-game winning streak, this feels like a come back down-to-Earth game. They let 44-year-old Philip Rivers torch them through the air. Ben Johnson is one of the best offensive minds in the game. He should be able to dial up a game plan using both of his backs and allow them to open the passing game for Caleb Williams. Prediction: Bears 30 49ers 27
