Four new teams entered the Top 25 this week. Indiana is currently the third ranked team in the country. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are once again ranked AND James Franklin was fired. What is happening in college football? Madness all around and we are loving all of it. This week has some great games on the slate. The first CFP poll is November 4, so we are getting close to crunch time. Here are our Top 3 2025 College Football Games Week 8.
No. 5 Ole Miss vs No. 9 Georgia
I personally don’t understand why Georgia is ranked so low in the AP Poll. They have one loss this season and it came to Alabama. Regardless, I think this is going to be an eye-opener for a lot of the country. Ole Miss is coming off a week where they barely beat Washington State. The Georgia defense is back to being legit. They’ve allowed 24 total points over the last two weeks to SEC foes. Gunnar Stockton is finding his rhythm and should be able to outpace an Ole Miss team that let me remind…ALMOST LOST TO WASHINGTON STATE. This game is in Athens. It is the biggest test of the season for Ole Miss. And it almost feels like a lock to go the other way for the Rebels. Prediction: Ole Miss 21 Georgia 28
No. 11 Tennessee vs No. 8 Alabama
This is the best game on the slate for me. Alabama got away with a win against Missouri. The Crimson Tide are 5-1 and undefeated in the SEC. Sure the FSU loss doesn’t look great but they have bounced back fully since that game and Ty Simpson has this offense looking scary. The Vols secondary leaves a lot to be desired and that’s probably what has held them back this season, just go watch the Georgia tape. But I do have faith in Joey Aguilar. He creates explosive plays, and he wreaks havoc. He can match a similar style of play as the Tide can. This game is on the road for the Vols and Tuscaloosa is unforgiving. But remember this, the Vols have won two of the last three in this series. They are more than a touchdown underdog. But that’s what will make this upset so fun. Prediction: Tennessee 31 Alabama 27
No. 20 USC vs No. 13 Notre Dame
Let me put it to you simply. If Notre Dame loses this game, they should not be in the College Football Playoff. The national champs enter Week 8 with two losses. They have fallen to Texas A&M and Miami. Their wins are not against impressive opponents. Their 13th ranking is undeserved and more of a residue from a season ago. If they can’t handle business at home against the 20th ranked team in the country, I am fully out on them. The Trojans have my favorite receiver in the country in Makai Lemon. They have an offense that can score and are tough to put away. Even when Illinois beat them, they scratched and clawed the whole game. Lincoln Riley is looking for his signature win at USC. Give the fan base something to talk about and something to prevent the donors from fundraising for your termination. This is the game. Their defense will give up scores. The question is can they match it? I think so. Prediction: USC 44 Notre Dame 41
