It was another great week of college football with a lot of high-profile games. In the best finish of maybe the year, Indiana was able to escape a massive upset against Penn State as Fernando Mendoza and Omar Cooper Jr. combined for one of the most memorable catches and throws in program history. Oregon was able to survive a near upset against Iowa at home in the brutal Eugene weather. Vandy had a comeback to stay in the Top 15, and the ACC had a bunch of great upsets. It was a fun week overall. Here are our Top 3 2025 College Football Games Week 12.
No. 10 Texas vs. No. 5 Georgia
Is Texas legit or is it not their year? I think this will be a telling week for the Longhorns. They already have two losses this season, but they have won four straight games. Their offense is getting better as the season goes on, and Arch Manning is beginning to look more comfortable as the starter. However, they have one of the best defenses in the country breathing down their necks this week. Georgia is ranked 18th in yards allowed per game this season. It’s not as good of a defense as we are used to with the Bulldogs, but you can’t let up on them. Texas has a better defense as the season has progressed, but I am not trusting Manning to go into Athens and get an upset win. Prediction: Texas 20 Georgia 28
No. 11 Oklahoma vs No. 4 Alabama
The Crimson Tide have completely recovered from their week one loss to Florida State and pulled off eight straight wins since then. There have been some close calls in the games that followed, but they have cemented themselves as the second-best team in the SEC at this point behind Texas A&M. These two defenses are very similar on paper. They both allow 17 points or less on defense. Offensively, they both average around 30 points a game. Ty Simpson is the better QB in this game. Given that this one is being played in Tuscaloosa and I’m just not sure how healthy John Mateer is since his surgery, I lean Bama in this game. They are a few weeks away from a possible SEC Championship and got a win over LSU last week. Prediction: Oklahoma 26 Alabama 30
No. 21 Iowa vs No. 17 USC
The USC Trojans control their own fate for the College Football Playoff. But their schedule is still brutal. After Iowa in Week 12, the Trojans must face Oregon and then UCLA who is plenty capable of an upset. USC beat Northwestern last week to improve to 7-2. The Iowa Hawkeyes kept it really close against Oregon in a game where they nearly upset the Ducks and made the Big Ten a mess. The Iowa defense is suffocating. Third in yards allowed and fifth in scoring allowed. USC is putting up big number on offense with over 500 yards a game and averaging nearly 40 points a game. But this is the best defense that they are going to face. I called for an Iowa upset a week ago and ate my words. I’ll do the same this week, but I don’t think I’m wrong this time around. Prediction: Iowa 23 USC 19
