Top 3 2022 College Football Games Week 3

Three top-10 teams fell in Week 2 of the College Football season and chaos erupted with schools who were paid to come to town trampling schools like Notre Dame, Nebraska, and Texas A&M. Scott Frost was fired in the midst of another bad Cornhuskers loss. That sets up a fun matchup here in Week 3. Here are our top 3 2022 college football games week 3.

No. 6 Oklahoma at Nebraska

There probably would have been a lot more social media hype and general banter around this game had Frost not lost his job. However, he is out at Nebraska and now we can just try to sit back and relax and watch a fun rivalry from the past that likely won’t happen for many years to come given the Sooners inevitable move to the SEC. The Sooners, by the way, don’t look like a team that is bound for the College Football Playoff. Sure, they have two blowout wins but they were against terrible teams. Last week, they went to the half leading just 7-3 over Kent State. They scored just 33 total points. Nebraska is certainly no better, and the Sooners are heavy favorites and for good reason, but I think this game could be more interesting than Vegas will lead us to believe. Teams show a little fire with an interim head coach and this contest was closer than we thought it would be last year. Prediction: Oklahoma 27 Nebraska 22

No. 12 BYU at No. 25 Oregon

The BYU Cougars provided the country with some late-night entertainment against the Baylor Bears last Saturday which resulted in a double-overtime win and a nine-spot jump in the AP Poll. The Cougars now have to hit the road to play an Oregon team that may have suffered a very bad Week 1 loss but should still be taken seriously. BYU was without their top two receivers in last week’s game, if they happen to be without them in this game, BYU might be in trouble. Oregon bounced back in Week 2, defeating Eastern Washington 70-14. The rankings show that BYU is a much better team, but BYU isn’t nearly as good on the road as they are at home. This is going to be a tough game for the Cougs and emotions could be running high after a big win over a top-10 opponent that resulted in their students rushing the field.  Prediction: BYU 22 Oregon 30

No. 13 Miami at No. 24 Texas A&M

Miami has two wins. One was against Bethune-Cookman, the other was against Southern Miss. It really took the Canes offense a while to get rolling last week. They scored just 10 points in the first half and scared their entire fan base. I am not sold that this is the 13th best team in the nation. As for the Aggies, what a bad loss they took to Appalachian State in Week 2. They paid the Mountaineers well over a million dollars to come play in College Station and then they lost. A&M gets to host this contest, which is a huge plus to begin with, but the offense of the Aggies looks completely lost and Miami has a great defense. This should be a low-scoring affair that may come down to a last-minute field goal.  Prediction: Miami 20 Texas A&M 23
