Another NFL season is in the books. But don’t worry, there is still the combine, the draft, free agency, and the trade season to keep you entertained. Many of these teams won’t even take a second to evaluate what went right and wrong and how they need to improve the upcoming season. Here are the 2026 AFC South team needs.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Biggest Needs: CB, DL, S, OT
2025 was a huge jump for the Jaguars who had a much more successful offense under new head coach Liam Coen and had big playmakers on defense. They could take some hits in free agency this year and will need to retain their own guys or look elsewhere. Improving on the offensive line and adding a tackle will be important. Trevor Lawrence had his best season yet, so keeping him healthy and getting him to improve even more will be important.
Indianapolis Colts
Biggest Needs: QB, DL, S, WR
The Colts will need to address their QB position first and foremost this offseason. Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard are basically being given one more year at the helm or else they are on the street. Indy had great early success with Daniel Jones, but injuries ended his season. Anthony Richardson is a massive question mark. Figuring out that position while improving defense will be the message for the Colts.
Houston Texans
Biggest Needs: C, G, RB, DL
The Texans boast the best defense in the NFL, but what they’ve done on the offensive side is almost criminal. C.J. Stroud had an incredible rookie season and then Houston decided not to build around that. They have shipped off offensive lineman like scrapyard junk and were left with one of the worst offenses in the league that got Stroud in some injury trouble in 2025. Rebuilding the offensive line, while also addressing the running back position is a must for Houston if they want an offense that can score points.
Tennessee Titans
Biggest Needs: EDGE, WR, LB, CB
It’s a new era for the Titans. Robert Saleh is taking over, and you can expect him to bring in a lot of familiar faces on the defensive side of the ball. The Titans need a lot, in a lot of different positions. They need to build around QB Cam Ward to make him successful but also can’t ignore how bad the defense was. Adding talent on the defensive line while also contributing in the secondary and middle of the field are both very important. This team is far away from making the postseason, but they can take a positive step in the right direction.
