Top 3 2023 College Football Games Week 7

There may be just three top 25 matchups in Week 7 of the college football season but there are still plenty of great matchups coming off a week where the Red River Rivalry lived up to the hype, Bama barely escaped with a win, and the most boneheaded coaching error in history was made by Miami. Here are our Top 3 2023 College Football Games Week 7.

No. 8 Oregon vs No. 7 Washington

Pac 12 cannibalism is a very real thing as we often see teams out West ruin their conferences foes’ chances of a College Football Playoff berth via an upset. This is a prime opportunity for both teams as Oregon and Washington battle it out in what I would call the second if not first best football conference in the country at the moment. Both teams are top 10 for a reason. Oregon’s offense is explosive. Their resume is slightly more impressive at this point although I would make the argument that neither team has really played a heavy hitter. This is the biggest test of the year for both teams and everything in the conference could come down to this game for a potential CFP spot. Washington has a great QB but so do the Ducks and I think it’s Bo Nix’s year. Prediction: Oregon 35 Washington 28

Texas A&M vs No. 19 Tennessee

The Aggies gave Alabama a great fight last week, but they came up just short and the Tide got some of their footing back. I still haven’t been particularly impressed by this offense from A&M which was supposed to be revamped and out of Jimbo Fisher’s hands, but I am still not so sure. Tennessee had a tough loss a few weeks ago but they still rank 19th in the country and could use a big win over an SEC opponent. After falling to Florida, I was ready to write off Tennessee, but they came back and beat the brakes off of South Carolina in a big way. The biggest issue is that QB Joe Milton still isn’t stepping into the role we thought he would take, throwing two more interceptions last Saturday. A&M could beat them up on defense and march into Knoxville and steal a win. Prediction: Texas A&M 20 Tennessee 16

No. 10 USC vs No. 21 Notre Dame

This is one of my favorite rivalry games of all time and it is one of the oldest and most traditional in all sports. The future of this series is slightly murky with USC heading to the Big 10 next season and scheduling still up in the air. USC has struggled over the last couple of games; we saw Colorado mount an epic comeback against them two weeks ago while Arizona took the Trojans to triple overtime. If the Trojans didn’t have Caleb Williams, who is the best player in college football right now, I am not so sure they are a top-10 ranked team and I personally think they should be lower. Luckily for them, Notre Dame is coming off a brutal loss to Louisville and nothing about the Irish has jumped off the page at me. Prediction: USC 40 Notre Dame 33
