Top 3 2023 College Football Games Week 6

Four Top 25 matchups are going down this week and it will be make or break for some teams that have College Football Playoff aspirations. If you have been on the edge of your seat all season, then buckle in because this week is only getting better with some of the best matchups of the season on display for all to see. Here are our Top 3 pics for 2023 College Football Week 6.

No. 12 Oklahoma vs No. 3 Texas

I am shocked that Oklahoma didn’t get into the top 10 this week because it would make the Red River Showdown all that more enticing. This is the last time the game will be played with both teams in the Big 12 but the rivalry should carry over to the SEC. Texas has been better than I expected and while I am not ready to label them as “back” quite yet, a win here could catapult them to number one in the AP Polls come next Sunday. Oklahoma is proving that they are back, even without Lincoln Riley. The defense has taken a step up under Brent Venables and Dillon Gabriel has been excellent under center for the Sooners. There is so much history and true pageantry in this game and it should be the best contest that you’ll see this week. Something tells me that Texas is coming ready to play, so I’ll side with the Longhorns. Prediction: Oklahoma 19 Texas 24

No. 11 Alabama vs Texas A&M

I am going with a matchup that isn’t between two Top 25 teams but that’s because this Crimson Tide and Aggies matchup has been incredibly fun to watch over the last two years and Alabama seems like a shell of the team they have been in the last decade. The series is split over the last two years and Bama barely escaped last season with a 24-20 win. All eyes are on this game as the Tide could be eliminated from CFP contention with a loss to Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies. The SEC West is essentially wide open for business and this game could go a long way in determining a winner. Alabama has no real answer at QB right now and a vastly underperforming offense. While I won’t say that Bobby Petrino and Jimbo are producing outlandish results on offense, they still have the same record as the Tide. Alabama is hard to back this year and I see an upset brewing in College Station. Prediction: Alabama 20 Texas A&M 25

No. 20 Kentucky vs No. 1 Georgia

The Bulldogs have been tested this season and we are seeing them getting closer and closer to a defeat more so than we have in the last two seasons. The offense was tripped up by South Carolina three weeks ago, and last week Auburn gave the Bulldogs everything they could handle as the number one team in the nation walked out with a 7-point win. Kentucky has played extremely well and showed it off against Florida as they shut down the Gators with a 33-14 win putting up nearly 400 yards of offense with zero turnovers. Florida is by far the best team that the undefeated Wildcats have played to date, but I have a feeling Georgia will lose a game this year. I don’t necessarily think it will be this week, but a close game is in store in Athens. Prediction: Kentucky 17 Georgia 21
