Top 3 2026 College Football Games Week 5

The college football world is slightly baffling through week four of the season. Ole Miss just beat LSU. Then Ole Miss got slapped around by Florida like they were a bottom barrel team. Texas A&M has completely lost all their momentum from a year ago and has been embarrassed big time the last two weeks. While Texas has had close call after close call but still pulled out the win each time. Maybe the only thing that was predictable was USC being a fraud, which was proven with a dirty hit and a butt-whooping by Oregon. This week promises some incredible games. Here are our Top 3 2026 College Football Games Week 5.

No. 5 Ohio State vs No. 14 Iowa

The Buckeyes have a tough battle against Iowa this weekend who come off a big win over Michigan. The Buckeyes enter the contest 3-1 after a convincing 42-19 victory over Illinois. Ohio State’s offense has shown explosive potential, led by quarterback Julian Sayin and star receiver Jeremiah Smith, who erupted for 217 yards and four touchdowns against Illinois. Iowa, meanwhile, brings a confident defense and home-field advantage into its biggest test yet. The Hawkeyes have allowed just 32 points through four games and will look to control tempo and make the Buckeyes work for every possession. Will it happen? I like Iowa, but I don’t love them. Prediction: Ohio State 24 Iowa 20

No. 7 Alabama vs No. 16 Mississippi State

How about this one? Two undefeated teams in the SEC battling it out. One you probably assumed would be undefeated, but the other you probably didn’t consider. The Crimson Tide enter the game 4-0 after a 49-18 win over South Carolina, while the Bulldogs are also 4-0 following a 31-24 victory over Missouri. Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell is coming off a huge performance against the Gamecocks with 400 total yards and four passing touchdowns. Bulldogs QB Kamario Taylor has also been outstanding, passing for 360 yards and three touchdowns against Missouri. The Bulldogs will have home-field advantage at Davis Wade Stadium, where they’ll face an Alabama team that has won 16 straight meetings in the series. Give me Bama in this game against a Bulldog team that hasn’t proven they are ready quite yet for a matchup like this. Prediction: Alabama 35 Mississippi State 26

No. 8 Florida vs No. 25 Missouri

Another SEC showdown on the slate. Florida travels to Columbia on Saturday to face Missouri in a matchup of ranked SEC teams. The Gators enter the game 4-0 after a 52-28 victory over then-No. 4 Ole Miss, while Missouri is 3-1 following a 31-24 loss at Mississippi State. Florida quarterback Aaron Philo has thrown for 917 yards and nine touchdowns, while running back Jadan Baugh has rushed for 600 yards and 11 touchdowns through four games. Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons has passed for 947 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this season. Florida is riding high, which is exactly where the Tigers want them. This is a game where Florida could easily get tripped up and look past Missouri. Prediction: Florida 23 Missouri 27
