Top 3 2025 College Football Games Week 6

Four top 10 teams were taken out in Week 5. It was absolute chaos in college football. Games came down to the wire, there were thrilling overtimes, and the Top 25 looked like Jenga the way it came crashing down. The college football playoff committee is going to have their jobs made more difficult every single week. Here are our Top 3 2025 College Football Games Week 6.

No. 16 Vanderbilt vs No. 10 Alabama

This was one of the best games last season. No one expected Vanderbilt to knock off Alabama. Not just last season. But ever. Nick Saban would never have allowed that to happen. But Kalen DeBoer let it happen. Not only did he let it happen, but it put Vandy on a different pedestal. All of a sudden, the Commodores are no longer the laughingstock of division I football. They are a Top 25 team that is a serious threat. Diego Pavia is a big-time QB who can win legit games so Alabama can’t ride too high after knocking off Georgia a week ago. With that being said, Vandy’s best wins are over South Carolina and Virginia Tech. Alabama has a better resume, even with a loss to FSU. I think Bama can win this game after a much-needed confidence boost over the Dogs. Prediction: Vanderbilt 21 Alabama 30

No. 3 Miami vs No. 18 Florida State

The Noles were knocked off a week ago by Virginia. They gave up 46 points in a double overtime loss. That looks a lot more like the Mike Norvell team from a year ago than the one that has played so far in 2025 – until last week of course. It came at a bad time for FSU as they now prepare for the number three team in the country. The Canes are coming off a bye week after a dominant victory over Florida where the defense once again showed that it can be one of the tops in the country. The Canes will have to deal with a hostile environment, but I do believe that they have more talent than FSU. Carson Beck hasn’t had any slipups yet. This would be the ultimate time for one of those to come as the ACC begins to open up for them. It’s going to be a classic Florida shootout, but I am taking the Canes. Prediction: Miami 38 Florida State 34

No. 11 Texas Tech vs Houston

No, this isn’t a ranked game. However, Houston is 4-0 as they come into this game with number 11 Texas Tech. When it comes to the Big 12, it is wide open. There are still plenty of teams that can earn themselves a spot in the conference title game which is an invitation to the CFP. Texas Tech has one of the best offenses in the nation. They put up massive numbers and run up the scoreboard. They are likely getting QB Behren Morton back for this road game and that should be enough to get past the Cougs. But Willie Fritz has his team playing at a high level and has the swagger of Houston football back. They survived a scare against Oregon State a week ago but as we so often see in the Big 12, teams get caught when they least expect it. Tech is less than a touchdown favorite which speaks a lot about the 11th team in the country. I am rolling with the upset in H-Town. Prediction: Texas Tech 35 Houston 40
