Top 3 2025 College Football Games Week 2

Week 1 of the college football season was wild.  The number one team in the nation fell right off the bat. Bill Belichick proved to the world that maybe he should have stayed in the NFL. And maybe just maybe Alabama will be searching for a new coach by the end of the season after an immediate stumble out of the gates for the Crimson Tide. There aren’t as many blockbuster games scheduled for Week 2 but there are still plenty where I will be glued to my TV. Here are our Top 3 2025 College Football Games Week 2.

Iowa vs No. 22 Iowa State

Who doesn’t love an in-state rivalry in Week 2 of the college football season. The Cyclones are off to a 2-0 start after playing across the pond and defeating Kansas State and then grabbed a win over South Dakota in their real home opener. The Hawkeyes did what they typically do, they scored just enough points while their defense suffocated an opponent. This time it was Albany who was looking for air, as Iowa beat them 34-7. And if you are thinking, only 34 points? Me too. This series is full back and forth. It has flipped the last four times these two teams have played, and the Cyclones got a comeback win a year ago, 20-19. I think Iowa State stacks wins on top of each other and starts the year, 3-0. Prediction: Iowa 17 Iowa State 21

No. 21 Ole Miss vs Kentucky

If you thought that Kentucky was going to come out in their season opener and assure their fans that last year’s bad season was just a fluke…you were wrong. Kentucky was holding on for dear life against Toledo, coming away with a 24-16 win. The Wildcats struggled offensively and lost the turnover battle against a team from the MAC. Ole Miss on the other hand blew Georgia State out of the water in their Week 1 cupcake game. It was a first look for the new QB in Oxford, Austin Simmons. He put up an eye-popping 341 passing yards and three touchdowns but did throw two interceptions against a team that should have never had their hands on the ball. Still, Ole Miss will be able to handle business on the road against an SEC opponent that will likely finish near the bottom this year.  Prediction: Ole Miss 31 Kentucky 20

No. 14 Michigan vs No. 18 Oklahoma

This is our only ranked battle of the week. A Big Ten foe taking on an SEC foe. This is a game that really matters for CFP positioning given an out of conference contest between two ranked teams. If either of these squads is vying for a spot in the playoffs, this is a must-win game. Michigan began their year 1-0 with a win over New Mexico, a team that they obviously should have handled but by no means was a “cupcake” game. Oklahoma did the same against Illinois state, putting up 35 points while their defense didn’t allow a touchdown. Playing in Norman is a tough task, especially for a Michigan offense that is debuting Bryce Underwood to the world. He either rises to the occasion and becomes a household name or shrinks under the pressure. I think he rises. Prediction: Michigan 27 Oklahoma 21
