Santa Hats

"Whip up a round of these bright red cocktails for a true holiday treat!"

Serves: 12

1 ¼ cups water

1 3-ounce box strawberry Jell-O

¾ cup vodka – add more if desired

1 whipped cream container

red food coloring (optional)

12 shot glasses

Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan or tea kettle. Pour into a 4-cup bowl and stir in the Jell-O until dissolved. Stir in the vodka. Add a drop of red food coloring, if you like a deeper red.

Fill each shot glass—or plastic, lidded shot containers, if you’re heading to the lot—about ½ full, leaving enough room for a fluffy, white layer on top. Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes.

Smooth a hefty spoonful of the whipped cream across the top of each glass to resemble the rim of Santa’s cap. goes one better. They cleverly smoosh an upside-down strawberry into the fluffy white layer and add a dot of whipped cream on the tip for a much better simulation of the iconic cap.
