Top 3 2026 College Football Games Week 7

UPSETS GALORE! How about Week 6 in the college football world? Number 1 Texas went down at the hands of Oklahoma, a team that was struggling mightily this season but pulled off the upset in the Red River Rivalry and may have tanked Arch Manning’s draft stock in the process. LSU went to Lexington and lost to Kentucky in what could be the toughest loss, so far, of the Lane Kiffin era and, in my opinion, could rule them out of CFP contention. And while it wasn’t an upset, the Georgia Bulldogs went into a brutal environment in Tuscaloosa and took down the Crimson Tide. There are six Top 25 matchups this week and that’s not counting a game between Kentucky and Oklahoma because you could argue the Sooners deserve a ranking after taking down the top team. Here are our Top 3 2026 College Football Games Week 7.

No. 2 Notre Dame vs No. 8 BYU

This is a massive game for both these teams. At the end of the year, when it comes time for the committee to look at resumes, this will be circled for both programs. For Notre Dame, it’s a game against a top 10 team. Outside of Miami, this and maybe SMU will be their only two quality opponents. The knock on Notre Dame is that they are without a conference and play a cupcake schedule. This would be a big win. For BYU, this is the non-conference win that would be massive for them. Ultimately, if they win the Big 12, they are in but if Texas Tech were to take the title, this gives them a slim, outside chance to still make the CFP if they were to not lose any other games. This will be a defensive battle with two top ranked units in the country. On top of that, both teams have legit QBs in CJ Carr and Bear Bachmeier. Everything here shapes up to be a fantastic game and the environment in Provo will be top notch and very loud. Notre Dame comes in favored by 10.5 points. That’s a huge number but I do think they are the better team. Prediction: Notre Dame 25 BYU 21

No. 4 Ohio State vs No. 5 Indiana

Here’s a game that should be circled on everyone’s calendar. This could be the most important game in the Big Ten this season. Indiana and UCLA are the only two unbeaten teams remaining in the conference. UCLA has a shot to make the Title Game and the CFP but it’s still first-year head coach Bob Chesney and there could be a stumble along the way. Ohio State and Indiana seem destined to be in the playoff, despite what happens this week. Ohio State has looked unstoppable since falling to Texas, but this is their biggest challenge since then. Indiana hasn’t had too many quality opponents and Nebraska gave them everything they could handle last week. The atmosphere won’t be too challenging, but I am eager to watch both defenses. I don’t think either of these teams are nearly as good as they were a year ago. I think this will be a defense-first game and if Indiana can control the first two downs, they will have a lean on the Buckeyes. Ultimately, I see the Curt Cignetti winning streak ending this week. Prediction: Ohio State 24 Indiana 23

No. 6 Alabama vs No. 14 Tennessee

The Crimson Tide were so close to a win against Georgia, but they fell short. The best they can do now is take down the rest of their ranked SEC opponents. Tennessee enters with just one loss which came against Texas, but they haven’t fully dominated their opponents in a way that makes me overly confident in them. Alabama took on maybe the best team in the country and nearly won and in the process may have shown us a new version of Kalen DeBoer. He had an edge and anger to him on the sideline that we haven’t seen before and if Alabama wants shades of Nick Saban’s Alabama, then that is exactly what it could take to get back there. This will be a statement game for Alabama to go into Rocky Top and take care of business in a big way. Prediction:  Alabama 33 Tennessee 24
