How about that for week 1? We had an epic upset brewing that fell short because of one second controversially put back on the clock. We had a total butt whooping that embarrassed a once storied program and elevated another that had questions about which version they were getting of their head coach. And we even had delays, caused by transformers and lightning. I expected nothing less for Week 1 in college football. We are onto Week 2, and there is just one Top 25 matchup. However, it might just be a candidate for Game of the Year or dare I say a National Championship preview. Here are our Top 3 2026 College Football Games Week 2.
No. 4 Texas vs No. 1 Ohio State
How could you not be excited about this game? You have the number one team in the nation in Ohio State going up against Texas who could just as easily hold that honor. It’s always hard to judge a team after Week 1. After all, Ohio State is coming off a game against Ball State while Texas played Texas State. I wouldn’t necessarily say that either team had a resume booster through game one. This is going to be a classic game where we will see what Arch Manning is made of and we will be able to judge just how good that Ohio State defense will be this season. The Longhorns have an obvious home field advantage, but that hasn’t stopped them from being upset before. Steve Sarkisian thinks this is the year for his Texas Longhorns, and it is likely the final year of Manning in Austin. A win like this changes the course of their season and even their program. I like Texas to run the upset. Prediction: Texas 31 Ohio State 29
Michigan vs No. 11 Oklahoma
Kyle Whittingham can’t be happy that his team probably should have lost to Western Michigan in his Wolverines coaching debut. Before the season began, I’d have easily looped this in as a top three game for Week 2 but after watching Michigan play in Week 1, I nearly bounced this game altogether. The Michigan offense was pitiful. They only managed 276 yards and 13 points. If you take away the last play of the game, that’s just 229 yards and 7 points. Oklahoma is built on their defense. It should be one of the top units in the entire country this season and Brent Venables was screaming at those guys last week despite the Sooners rolling to a 51-0 win over UTEP. That is the kind of accountability and attention to detail that I love to see in a head coach. Oklahoma has a gauntlet in the SEC so a win over a good Big Ten program could go a long way for their odds of making the CFP. Prediction: Michigan 10 Oklahoma 25
No. 10 Texas A&M vs Arizona State
This could be an upset alert game that you monitor throughout the day. The Sun Devils are hoping to get back to CFP form this season and got off to a good start in Week 1. Disclaimer: They played Morgan Statet. College Station will be hot and humid and the Sun Devils will need their A+ game to get the upset. Mike Elko’s squad is coming off a 50-0 win themselves and were probably already looking at this game by the second quarter of last week. Both these offenses will be able to score but I am far more confident in the Aggies defense. They should get the win, but not without a scare. Prediction: Texas A&M 23 ASU 20
