The NFL is a cruel place. Fred Warner is done for the season. A nasty injury that was hard to watch. It basically takes the 49ers out of Super Bowl contention, and it happened in a split second. But it’s a reminder that this league is tough to predict and even the best team can be a play away from their season being at risk. Heck, it can go the other way too. Maybe this Warner injury rallies the team together. Nonetheless, his absence shakes up not just the NFC West but the entire conference and makes some of the games this week even more intriguing. Here are our Top 3 2025 NFL Games Week 7.
New York Giants vs Denver Broncos
Who thought the Giants would be on one of these lists at the beginning of the year. They are 2-1 since making the switch from Russell Wilson to Jaxson Dart. Cam Skattebo has become the most popular guy in the league and there seems to be some legit juice around this Giants team all of a sudden. But the Broncos will present a tough obstacle. They have the second-best run defense in the league and there is a world where after three starts, there is enough usable film on Dart to really slow down what has made him good: being mobile and extending plays. The Broncos have some bruising defenders, and this will be a physical game. While Bo Nix has struggled to find a consistent groove, I think the Broncos strengthen their playoff case in this game while the Giants have some holes revealed. Prediction: Giants 17 Broncos 27
Indianapolis Colts vs Los Angeles Chargers
Daniel Jones, man. Who saw this one coming? The Colts are 5-1. Their sole loss came in Los Angeles when they lost to the Rams. Now they travel back there and try to get a win at SoFi Stadium against the LA Chargers. The Bolts are coming off an electric win against the Dolphins where a late-game drive and field goal proved to be the difference. The Chargers are dealing with a bounty of injuries at wide receiver, running back, and offensive line. That is where the Colts can capitalize. Their offense scores points at a high clip and they have the best O-line in the league. I expect Jonathan Taylor to run it a ton and keep the ball out of Justin Herbert’s hands. The Colts are about to be 6-1, a statement I would’ve never believed at the beginning of the year. Prediction: Colts 26 Chargers 20
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Detroit Lions
Is there a more fun team to watch in the NFL than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I can’t think of one. Baker Mayfield is going out there with a ton of reserves and rookies and kicking butt. He is the MVP front runner for a reason and proved that again against the 49ers when he found guys like Kam and Tez Johnson to reel in impressive touchdown passes. The Bucs are a gritty team so it should make for a fun matchup against the Lions who have a bad taste in their mouths after falling to the Chiefs. Detroit was simply outmatched defensively by Pat Mahomes. That concerns me about what they will face against the Bucs. We know that the Lions can score, but can their defense slow down Baker and the Bucs. Few teams have proven that they can, which is why they sit at 5-1. Prediction: Bucs 30 Lions 27
