There are just three college football Top 25 matchups in Week 7 but there are plenty of great games. Coming off a week filled with upsets, notably Texas losing to Florida and Penn State falling to UCLA, the rankings were shuffled, and the AP Poll looks a lot different than it once did. There are some unranked teams that should still give us some good games and lots of important conference matchups as we enter the latter part of the season. Here are our Top 3 2025 College Football Games Week 7.
No. 7 Indiana vs No. 3 Oregon
This is the biggest test that Indiana has had yet. If they want to cement themselves as a legit contender and a school that is entering this new Curt Cignetti era with a bang, then they need to get a win in Eugene. The Ducks are good, but they can be had. This is a matchup of two Top 10 defenses and two top 12 offenses. Indiana ranks better in both those categories entering this game. Their biggest challenge will be slowing down Oregon on the ground. Fernando Mendoza could struggle against a top 5 pass offense. That would be the thing that takes Indiana out of this game. But have you seen a college football game this season? Have you noticed the chaos and the upsets? I don’t think rankings are accurate in 2025 and I have the Hoosiers as the better team this week. Mendoza has been waiting for his signature moment, and I think his defense gets him an extra stop or takeaway to seal the deal. Prediction: Indiana 24 Oregon 23
No. 8 Alabama vs No. 14 Missouri
For a second straight year, Vandy played Alabama tight but this time around it was the Crimson Tide who left that game victorious. Now they have a much bigger battle on their hands as they hit the road to face off against Missouri. The Tigers are still undefeated although their schedule hasn’t really turned any heads. They are the number one defense in the country in yards allowed, giving up just over 200 yards per game and limiting opponents to an average of 14 points per week. Alabama will have their hands full but if they want voters to fully forget the FSU nightmare from Week 1, this is the game where they erase the past. The issue is, I love Beau Pribula. The Penn State transfer might have the Nittany Lions thinking twice about their choice to keep Drew Allar over him. Pribula has a clean 9 touchdowns to 3 interceptions stat line while putting up nice passing numbers and showing efficiency. I like him to get an upset win at home and catapult to the top of the SEC. Prediction: Alabama 25 Missouri 31
No. 6 Oklahoma vs Texas
Despite being the sixth best team in the country and taking on a now unranked Texas team that is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Florida Gators, the country doesn’t seem to be bought in on the Sooners. They are probably without John Mateer who is recovering from surgery, but the Sooners are three point dogs in the annual Red River Rivalry game. Backup Michael Hawkins Jr. put together a nice day against Kent State as he combined for four touchdowns on the day, but again, that was against Kent State. But at this rate, I’d take him over Arch Manning who has looked anything but the top touted college football prospect since taking the reins as the starting QB. Texas has left something to be desired all season long which is why they already have two losses. Oklahoma allows about 7 points a game, and while their offense could struggle without Mateer, I don’t think the Texas offense is anything to worry about. Prediction: Oklahoma 17 Texas 10
