2025 American League Midseason Awards

We are nearing the midway mark of the Major League Baseball season. That also means all eyes are on award predictions. Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani are almost always in the mix, and spoiler…there isn’t much of a change this time around, either. But there are still plenty of players in the mix for hardware, let’s break it down. Here’s our list of the 2025 American League midseason awards.

Most Valuable Player

Aaron Judge – Yankees: Judge has put up insane numbers to start the season as his batting average hovered over .400. He is on pace to hit over 60 home runs for the year and drive in almost 130 runs for the season. He is the best bat in all baseball, and it isn’t close.

Cal Raleigh – Mariners: While Judge is on a tear, Raleigh is trying to chase him down. He’s a catcher that can hit, which makes him one of the rarest players of all time. Salvador Perez has the record for home runs by a catcher with 48, but Raleigh already has 30+.

Jose Ramirez – Guardians: J-Ram is as consistent as they come. He is top 10 in batting average in baseball, he steals bags and plays a solid third base.

Cy Young

Tarik Skubal – Tigers: Skubal is the most dominant pitcher in all baseball. He is crushing hitters. Best WHIP in major league baseball, top five in strikeouts, and ERA. Skubal is going deep into games and making it a nightmare for any team that has to face him.

Garrett Crochet – Red Sox: The Sox gave up a lot to get Crochet, but he quickly became the ace they have needed for a few years. Crochet leads all Major League Baseball in strikeouts. He has an impeccable breaking ball, and his delivery is making it difficult for right and left-handed batters.

Hunter Brown – Astros: Brown is the next up and comer in the American League on the mound. He has become the ace of the Astros rotation and rarely allows a run. If the Astros can make a run, Brown will have a shot.

Rookie of the Year

Jacob Wilson – Athletics: Does this guy ever strike out? The answer is rarely. Wilson has a knack for getting on base. He has K’d just 20 times all season long. He has the second-best batting average in all baseball.

Nick Kurtz – Athletics: This might be a two-man Athletics race for the Rookie of the Year. In 142 at-bats, Kurtz has shown off his raw power. He already has 10 home runs. Kurtz is crushing it in the minor league ballpark that the A’s call home.

Jac Caglianone – Royals: He has been one of the most exciting prospects to be called up and while he hasn’t fully lived up to the hype, there is plenty of time.
