We are in the dog days of the NFL season. Some teams are just trying to drag themselves to the finish line, while others are jockeying for a playoff position. There is a clear power ranking now in the league and luckily for us, we have a couple of excellent division games between great teams that could decide their fate moving forward. Here are our Top 3 2024 NFL Games Week 14.
Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions
This is a perfect way to kick off our week with a Thursday Night division special between the Lions and Packers. It’s the best team in the NFL and one of the best teams in the NFC. Green Bay has won eight of their last 10 games. They played Detroit, a team that’s won 10 straight, five weeks ago and lost by 10 points. Now Detroit gets to host this game in Detroit. Jared Goff should be in line for a big passing game against a rather mediocre pass defense in Green Bay. I don’t think Detroit is going to play a perfect game, Chicago took them to the end last week, but I do believe they played well enough for a win. There is no one playing better and more physical football in the NFL right now. Ben Johnson is the best OC in the league and has created a playbook that provides us with a fun new wrinkle week after week. I think that Green Bay is good enough to hang around but not good enough to win. Prediction: Packers 23 Lions 28
Buffalo Bills vs Los Angeles Rams
How about the Bills? They absolutely dominated and crushed San Francisco in an exciting snow game last week. Josh Allen may have locked up the NFL’s MVP award in that game. He threw for multiple scores, rushed for a score, and even “caught” a touchdown when he took a lateral from Amari Cooper to the house. The Rams are going to be outmatched in this game. Their defense has taken a massive step back this season and it’s evident that they are missing Aaron Donald on the interior line. They are 2-2 in their last four weeks, both losses came at home and their wins are against New England and New Orleans. The Rams give me no confidence that they can beat a Bills team that might be the best in the AFC at this point. Prediction: Bills 34 Rams 21
Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs
Anytime we get a Chiefs and Chargers matchup, we typically get a pretty good game. Justin Hebert has played some of his best football against the Chiefs but he has just a 2-6 record to show for it. But this LA team is different from year’s past. Their defense is top notch, they allow the fewest points per game in the NFL. Patrick Mahomes is having a mediocre season at best, and they were held to 17 points against the Chargers earlier this season. The issue for the Chargers has been finding the end zone. They’ve got to figure out how to fool this Kansas City defense and I think their defense can do enough to get the job done. Issue is, they are without J.K. Dobbins and Ladd McConkey might not play. I like LA, just not this week. Prediction: Chargers 17 Chiefs 20
