Finally, at long last, the Kansas City Chiefs were taken down. It felt like only a matter of time before their winning streak would be snapped. Afterall, 15 consecutive wins is a long streak. In the other conference, we can pretty much lay the Dallas Cowboys season to rest. The 49ers are struggling more than anyone could have imagined, and the Lions look like they couldn’t be stopped by a team full of All-Pros at every single position. This week has some important conference games on the schedule. Here are our Top 3 2024 NFL Games Week 12.
San Francisco 49ers vs Green Bay Packers
It’s hard not to root for a Packers/49ers matchup despite what might be happening between both teams. The Niners are struggling, there is no doubt about it. Last week was heartbreaking after shutting down Seattle for nearly the whole game until Geno Smith bolted to the end zone in the final seconds. Christian McCaffrey is back but the 49ers explosive offensive from a year ago is not. The Packers are hot and cold. Last week was a gift, getting bailed out by a blocked kick that would have won the game for Chicago. Jordan Love isn’t playing his best ball, but this is a legit defense that Green Bay boasts. Both teams are in some trouble in their own divisions meaning the wild card is the most likely route to the postseason and this is a massive game. Prediction: 49ers 23 Packers 20
Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Rams
Don’t look now, but the Eagles are one of the best teams in the NFL once again. I credit Saquon Barkley for revolutionizing an offense that was already tough to stop. The former Giants star has made himself comfortable in Philly, rushing for more than 100 yards in six games this season. Their defense is top notch, and they are on a healthy winning streak. Los Angeles finally has their weapons back and it’s resulted in wins in two of their last three games. The Rams have holes on defense that I think get exposed in this game, but I know that Matt Stafford should make things interesting through the air. I expect a close three quarters until Barkley puts this game on ice. Prediction: Eagles 28 Rams 21
Baltimore Ravens vs Los Angeles Chargers
SoFi Stadium will see night games on back-to-back days when the Ravens come to town to take on the red-hot Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert finally has a coach in Jim Harbaugh who he can flourish under. Herbert has been playing at an MVP-level which is quite impressive when you look at the cast of players they have surrounded him with. The Ravens are a tough team to read. When they are on, get out of the way. But when they are off, they are mediocre at best. They are two games back in their division. Last week was a perfect example when the offense fell flat against a good Pittsburgh defense. If the Chargers are for real, this is the game where they cement themselves as legit contenders.
