The NFL trade deadline has come and gone. There were some definite winners and losers here as teams jockey for playoff positions. We are now past Halloween, so we are starting to get a better idea of who is a pretender and who is a contender. There are lots of important games on the slate this week, especially a few divisional matchups that could really shape the way the season pans out. Here are our Top 3 2024 NFL Games Week 10.
Cincinnati Bengals vs Baltimore Ravens
It feels like the Bengals season has gotten away from them quickly. They began with a terrible losing streak, regained their footing, and have been a roller coaster team since then. Baltimore began the year 0-2 but has gone 6-1 since then with a flukey loss to the Browns in Jameis Winston’s first start. The first time these two teams met this year they gave us the game of the year thus far. Baltimore cemented a comeback, forced OT, and won 41-38. I think the offenses have exceptional performances in this game and I see the Ravens winning it again, just in regulation this time. Cincy has had no chemistry on offense as Tee Higgins seems to have a flare up in every practice. Joe Burrow has been really hot, then really cold, and the defense isn’t the same as it once was. Prediction: Bengals 28 Ravens 32
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Washington Commanders
Upset alert of the week here for me. I am all in on Jayden Daniels and the Commanders this season as they have looked like the most fun team in football all year long. Daniels is going to win Rookie of the Year and should honestly be in the MVP conversation, but now he must face Mike Tomlin. He is a coach who is 25-5 against rookie QBs straight up. This Steelers defense has been impossible to figure out for most teams that have played them. They allow 14.9 points per game which is second best in the league. And to Russell Wilson’s credit, this team has been scoring with him under center. Their last three games have resulted in 32, 37, and 26 points. The Steelers look like the best team in the AFC North right now and could have a big statement win this week. Prediction: Steelers 27 Commanders 17
Detroit Lions vs Houston Texans
The Lions are the best team in the NFL right now and I’ve got a really hard time betting against them in any scenario until they prove to me that they have cracks. They are winning games by big margins and doing it in a physical, demanding way. Jared Goff might just be the most accurate QB in NFL history and their two headed RB monster of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs is shredding defenses. The Texans are coming off extended rest but their loss to the Jets really puzzled me and the passing numbers have been way down for C.J. Stroud since losing Nico Collins, not to mention Stefon Diggs is now gone Way too much to overcome for Houston in this game, even at home. Prediction: Lions 30 Texans 21
