Top 3 2023 College Football Games Week 2

Week 1 is in the books, and it was pretty epic. Colorado might just be the real deal with Deion Sanders as he and the Buffs shocked the college football world. How about the Pac 12 in general? The conference went a perfect 12-0 in Week 1 as they look to put together a fun final year. Plus, an upset for Wyoming over Texas Tech that went into double overtime. Here’s hoping week 2 is even better! Here are our top 3 2023 College Football Week 2 games.

No. 20 Mississippi vs No. 24 Tulane

This is just one of two ranked matchups that we have in Week 2, and it comes at the back end of the Top 25. But it should be a fun game, nonetheless. Mississippi began their season with an absolute rout of Mercer, winning 73-7 as Jaxson Dart impressed, throwing for over 330 yards and four touchdowns. We are expecting Lane Kiffin’s team to tear it up on offense so this should be a fun test against a Tulane team that can score just as easily. I am hoping for a total track meet in this one as both teams struggle on defense. Tulane put up 37 in Week 1. This is going to be their toughest matchup of the season and is currently the only ranked game on their schedule so this one might mean a little bit more to the Green Wave and their home fan base. Prediction – Mississippi 54 Tulane 51

No. 11 Texas vs No. 3 Alabama

This was an epic game last season and one where Alabama narrowly escaped with a win after playing in front of a brutal Texas crowd. The Crimson Tide didn’t hold back on Saturday against Middle Tennessee and quarterback Jalen Milroe showed us that he isn’t just a threat with his arm but with his legs as well, rushing for two touchdowns. It feels like there has been a lot of Alabama slander this season and I imagine the Crimson Tide is ready to wipe that message off the board when the Longhorns come to town. Texas comes in overhyped every single season and I wasn’t all that impressed with their 37-point performance against a weak Rice team. Quinn Ewers was good but there were certainly things to work on after this game. This likely isn’t the matchup that Texas wouldn’t have wanted in Week 2, but here it is. Prediction – Alabama 34 Texas 17

No. 23 Texas A&M vs Miami

I expected round 1 of this home and home series to be fun, and we were handed a 17-9 Aggie win a season ago, so now I really hope that we do get a fun game. Mario Cristobal is now in year two in Coral Gables, and he has some of his own recruits padding up. On the other side, I would tell you that Jimbo Fisher is feeling the heat, but that’s just likely not the case with his insane contract. Both teams played cupcake games in Week 1, but I am giving the nod to Miami here, playing at home. They have a brutal rushing attack with two capable backs that will control the clock and I am not backing A&M until I see that their offense is truly figured out. The nod goes to the Canes on defense. Prediction – Texas A&M 17 Miami 27
