What if I told you before the season began that Jameis Winston was going to beat the Ravens, Jayden Daniels would throw one of the greatest Hail Mary’s of all-time, and Russell Wilson would look like a savior? Would you have believed me? I would understand if you didn’t, but that was all just one week in the NFL. Now, we are on to the next week of surprises. Here are our Top 3 NFL Games Week 9.
Los Angeles Chargers vs Cleveland Browns
Does Jameis Winston make the Browns a must-watch team? No, but he certainly makes them a whole lot more fun than Deshuan Watson did. Jameis went out there and ripped in his first start since 2022. He was great before the game, great during the game, and even better after it. Now they get to welcome in the Chargers at home and it could be a shootout as Los Angeles has finally allowed Justin Herbert to pass again in this offense which should make for a high-scoring affair as Cleveland ranks 25th or worse in nearly all defensive passing stats. With Winston steering this offense in the right direction and the addition of Nick Chubb in the backfield, this has the potential to be one of the more fun games in Week 9. Both teams have everything right in front of them if they want to really dive into the playoff race and this could be an important AFC game. Prediction: Chargers 27 Browns 30
Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks
Matt Stafford got Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back last week and suddenly, he looked like a vintage version of himself. Let’s not forget how scary this Rams offense is thanks to Sean McVay and all the pieces he has found in recent years. Any rumor of a Cooper Kupp trade fell off the table after last week’s win over the Vikings as the Rams got back into the NFC West race and Stafford proved that he can still win the close games. The Seahawks have been up and down in recent weeks and while they are still a first–place team out West, they can’t afford another loss in the division. Geno Smith throws it more than anyone QB in the league, but Kenneth Walker III was completely shut down last week and Los Angeles could prove to be an issue here. Buffalo went into Seattle and the Bills Mafia took over the place, making it seem like a Bills home game. That won’t be the case here, but I am still siding with the team that I think is better right this second. Prediction: Rams 28 Seahawks 24
Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers
This is our crown-jewel of the week as the Lions look like legitimate Super Bowl favorites through 8 weeks and the Packers are playing extremely good ball. The biggest concern entering this game is Jordan Love who left his Week 8 game with a groin injury and was replaced by Malik Willis. Don’t get me wrong, Willis was good when he filled in for Love earlier this year, but this is the toughest matchup that they will face, and the Lions will lay down for no one. Their two-headed monster of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs will control the clock and keep the ball in Detroit’s hands for as long as possible. Without Love, it is a huge risk to think that Green Bay’s offense can keep up with Dan Campbell’s team. The Lions are heading for Lambeau and looking for a divisional road win. Prediction: Lions 30 Packers 20
